Sharp Hydrovac Equipment was founded by industry veterans with decades of experience in underground and utility construction — not just in North America, but around the world.

After watching lithium-ion technology transform job sites through cordless tools and electric equipment, we saw the same opportunity emerging for vacuum excavation.

So we set out to build something different.

Our team has spent a lifetime working alongside contractors, utilities, and municipalities. We understand the daily challenges of underground work — noise restrictions, maintenance downtime, fuel costs, and the growing need for cleaner, more efficient equipment.

That understanding led to one question:

Could a vacuum excavator be built to run entirely on electric power — without sacrificing performance?

The answer became the foundation of Sharp Equipment.

From Concept to Reality

What began as a proof of concept quickly became a full-scale development effort.

After extensive research, our team built and tested an all-electric hydrovac powered by lithium-ion battery technology. A prototype unit was placed into real-world service with B&H Construction in Oklahoma City, where it operated for nearly a year across Oklahoma and North Texas — in all seasons, soil conditions, and job types.

The results confirmed what we believed from the start:
Electric vacuum excavation was not only possible — it was practical.

Today, that prototype has become a production machine.
